Ex-Centris is a film production and screening complex designed to evolve with the emergence of new digital production technologies. It is an avant-garde facility dedicated to nurturing independent creators and producers interested and involved in experimenting with a new generation of film production and screening tools. The Ex-Centris cinemas offer a combination of the best available projection and sound capabilities. Digital production and post-production studios built right into the complex allow unprecedented integration between production and theatrical exhibition. Designed and built by Daniel Langlois, Ex-Centris is both a cinematographic research laboratory and a state-of-the-art film screening facility.

The Imperial Cinema was built in 1913 and is now a recognized historical landmark. It underwent major renovations in 2003, and is now an exceptional screening space. With 780 seats, the Imperial allows the FNC to use a large theatre, making it possible for more festival-goers to see some of the more popular titles in the Festival lineup.

The Cinémathèque is a natural partner for the Festival, thanks to its mission of showcasing international and domestic cinematic heritage. For several years now, the Cinémathèque team has been working with the Festival team to program its tributes and retrospectives.
