A young girl arrives in the suburbs of New York. Helped by mysterious, hooded men, she prepares for a suicide attack that will take place in Times Square. Who is she? Who does she work for and who is she giving her life for? With clinical precision, Day Night Day Night chronicles the slow death of a suicide bomber and its impact on the innocent victims. The camera never leaves this young anonymous girl, following her through the most mundane preparations until she commits her gruesome act of faith. And though her face remains stony, her hollow gaze implores the spectator to feel the distress of a soul with nothing to lose. This début fictional feature was screened at the Directors' Fortnight at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival.
