Synopsis :

Daydreaming in a canoe on the tranquil surface of a lake. Pitching a tent in the rain, laughing. Singing at the top of your lungs. Fishing for walleye and cooking up a feast on a campfire. Telling each other fantastic tales by moonlight... and many other seemingly trivial moments of priceless value. All the more important when, like Pablo, you have custody of your child only every second weekend. On this weekend, Pablo and five-year-old Leon, joined by their old dog Mara, forge the joyous memories that provide comfort when they are away from each other. Dancer, choreographer and actor Diconca serves up his first feature, equal parts documentary, personal essay and fiction, as a testament to his boundless love for his son. A haunting meditation on separation, tinged with melancholy and carried by the sublimely luminous camerawork of Nicolas Canniccioni, Two days and a half is a simple, beautiful film that imaginatively, tenderly and movingly evokes the harsh realities of being away from your children.
