Synopsis :

Let There be Light Cone! 30 years of experimental cinema

Created in 1982 and based in Paris, Light Cone is one of the most important distributors of experimental film in Europe, with a catalogue of more than 3,500 films. This year, Light Cone celebrates its 30th anniversary, and it seemed of the highest importance to acknowledge the organization’s extraordinary work by offering two programs that shed light on the vitality of its collection, the inventiveness of its programming, and the absolute necessity of its existence. In collaboration with the FNC, Hors champ and the Segal Centre’s CinemaSpace.

FIGURES / short film program

Curators : Emmanuel Lefrant (Light Cone), Daïchi Saïto (CinemaSpace), André Habib (Hors Champ)

The Light Cone catalogue also reflects post-war avant-garde movements and the major tendencies of cinematographic creation in the years following the 60's, in particular through a number of filmmakers whose pioneering work has made them central figures in the fields of experimental cinema and contemporary art.
