Synopsis :

DIRECTOR MARIE LOSIER AND GENESIS BREYER P-ORRIDGE WILL BE PRESENT

... a fearless assault on documentary conventions.” Cineaste Magazine

“Lady Gaga has nothing on Genesis Breyer P-Orridge.” The Wall Street Journal

The ultimate musical cult figure and spiritual heir to Burroughs and Brion Gysin, Genesis Breyer P-Orridge is a founding member of legendary bands Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV. The industrial-music pioneer and precursor to psychotropic techno is also a renowned performance artist. In 2000, he and his companion, Lady Jaye, decided to get plastic surgery to merge into one. Each would become the other, giving rise to the “Pandrogyne,” a pure creature of their love and devotion.

In an age when we’re sold dreams of love and beauty by hucksters who abhor the very idea of difference, this first feature by a star of experimental cinema is a beautiful love story told through one of the most radical performance pieces the world has ever seen. The film, transgressive, introspective and entertaining, never stoops to the level of a freak show, focusing instead on a genuinely loving relationship that pushes the boundaries of art and sexual identity. Since its acclaimed screening at the Berlin festival, the documentary has attracted widespread attention. As much about the art of love as the love of art, this important, timely work is a stunning ode to perfect communion. - Julien Fonfrède
