Tributes - Retrospectives - Cinema on cinema
| 114 minutes | 1987
A variation on the theme of destiny: a man about to miss his train experiences three different outcomes. This surprising film, divided into three sections, was banned in Poland for six years. Here, Kieslowski approaches fiction in a new way, adopting an uncommonly complex narrative structure. In hindsight, Blind Chance was a precursor to the trilogy Kieslowski made in France in 1993-1994 (Trois couleurs: Bleu, Blanc, Rouge), in which each instalment pivots around an accident that happens at a crucial moment in the story.
