In 1998, Denis Villeneuve’s first solo outing made a huge splash on the Quebec cinema landscape. The originality of his voyage of discovery had a huge influence on Quebec’s Generation X, who found in it the freedom to take their place onscreen.
Modlitwa follows a widowed woman caring for her home as she meditates on God, labour and nature.
