To what extent can the latest immersion and simulation technologies contribute to the creative process? Is the immersive experience the future of public exhibition? October 15, 5 p.m., in partnership with the IMAX-Telus movie theatre at the Montréal Science Centre, a special free screening of Sea Monsters 3D, following the screening, a discussion will be held with the film’s special effects producer, Peter Skovsbo (DamnFX).

What are the connections between cinema and video games? Is there convergence or divergence -- are they friend or foe? To what extent are ingame narrative sequences conceived in cinematic terms? What is their future as narrative tools? How can they be brought closer to cinema? How can players be given more power to create characters and stories? Why should they have that power? How do you design a game in which the player becomes the author? Is this the road to the long-sought interactive cinema?
