Dans le cadre des Rencontres Internationales du Documentaire de Montréal, le Festival du nouveau cinéma est heureux de coprésenter le film The Sound of Insects-Records of a Mummy du cinéaste suisse Peter Liechti. A la croisée entre la fiction et le documentaire, The Sound of Insects relate un fait divers hors du commun : il y a quelques années, au Japon, au fond de la forêt, on retrouvait le corps momifié d’un homme qui s’était laissé mourir d’inanition. Pendant sa longue agonie, il a tenu un journal dont Peter Liechti s’est inspiré.
The Sound of Insects est précédé du court métrage Ali Shan de Yung Chang. Les deux films seront présentés au Cinéma Parallèle le samedi 21 Novembre à 15h00 (3536 boul. Saint-Laurent, Montréal). Pour plus d’informations sur les RIDM : http://www.ridm.qc.ca
