Le long métrage documentaire Vous n’aimez pas la vérité de Patricio Henriquez et Luc Côté sera présenté en première mondiale le 14 octobre prochain au cinéma Impérial lors de la 39e édition du Festival. Il ouvrira la section Focus créée il y a 5 ans pour célébrer la vitalité du cinéma québécois et canadien !
Le documentaire rend compte des premiers échanges entre Omar Khadr et une équipe d’agents du Service canadien du renseignement de sécurité. Omar n’a que 16 ans à cette époque… Ce film percutant basé sur l’enregistrement d’une caméra de surveillance de la prison de Guantánamo témoigne de l’intensité de ce dialogue forcé avec l’enfant-soldat.
Alors que le procès d’Omar Khadr s’est ouvert ce lundi devant une commission militaire américaine, la présentation publique de Vous n’aimez pas la vérité revêt une importance et une pertinence incontestables.
